So I decided recently (like, maybe Friday or so) that perhaps I needed to eat all the food in my fridge/pantry before I go to the grocery store again. I decided this because on Friday I went out specifically to get some new graham crackers (mine were old and stale) and some Nutella. I'd been reading other people's blogs and I am *highly* susceptible to outside influence sometimes. Now, I've never been a huge Nutella fan, in fact I think the first time I had it I wasn't impressed. But then a few months ago I decided I wanted some...so I went to my local Cost Plus World Market because they have these cute little individual packets. Rock on. Knowing myself as well as I do I went ahead and bought 2 packets, knowing I'd want one then and then another one months later. Fast forward to Thursday night. I was reading this blog - which I found via my friend who is the author of this blog -and she mentioned Nutella once or twice and (remember I told you I was highly susceptible???) I was like, "Yum! Must have Nutella immediately!!" So I went and got that handy little packet I'd bought a few months ago (re: preparedness people, thankyouverymuch) and my graham crackers and slathered it on there and went to town. I didn't know my graham crackers had gone stale at that point, but I should've because I eat them only a little more often than I eat Nutella ;) Hee hee.
So. Friday I went out and bought the new graham crackers and a *gasp* actual jar of the beloved chocolate-hazelnutty awesomeness. And I have had some every day since then...granted, it's only two days later, but still.
Anywho. So when I went out and bought this I also bought some other random things (that I didn't necessarily need) and when I came home and tried to shove the frozen chicken into my freezer I looked in the freezer and fridge and thought, "I have way too much stuff in here to be buying crap all the time. I have a ton of food that I need to eat before I buy anything else." I have done really good since Friday. I took my dinner to work Friday night, took my dinner to work last night, ate my meals all here today, so I'm doing good. The problem is that I'm running out of things that I consider staples like green onions, celery, american cheese, bananas, blueberries, etc...and you're probably thinking "well, awesomeautumn, just go to the store with a list and buy only the items on your list. It's not that difficult." If that's what you're thinking, then clearly you have never actually met me because that is ALWAYS how I go to the store and it NEVER works. Never. Well, maybe like once or twice...but for this situation (like another situation going on in my life currently) I feel it's probably just best to avoid temptation altogether until I absolutely must go to the store because I am out of everything. Yes. I'll let you know how it works out.
Unrelated...I really need to work on the background of this blog. I'll get to it...at some point ;)
You could always just bring enough cash just to buy what's on your list?
